CLARENCE-ROCKLAND — The OPP Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a Rockland home this morning, an action coinciding with “serious injuries” sustained by a male at the Cecile Cresent home.

The 53-year-old man was transported to hospital after police entered the address, according to the Russell County OPP detachment, whose officers also took part.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate. The arm’s length oversight entity investigates when Ontario police are involved in civilian death or serious injury. Its involvement means that police can’t comment further on what happened — until after the SIU delivers a report.
