LONG SAULT — SD&G OPP Constable Marc Carriere has hung up his belt and gone off duty for the last time.
The provincial constable began his career 30 years ago with the Alexandria Police Department, serving there for a decade. He then joined the OPP to continue for another 20 years.
Carriere had the opportunity to be a part of several different units during his career.
A familiar face to the residents of Alexandria and Glengarry County, the SD&G OPP lauds Carriere for “integrity, compassion and as a true dedicated community member committed to public safety and security of its residents.”
The detachment congratulated him on his retirement Oct. 23.
“It has been a wonderful 30 year career and I’m looking forward to enjoying extra time with my family,” he said.
