Friday, November 6 was our Hawaiian Day spirit competition against Seaway HS. Over half of our students took part which brought us to 53% participation rate; however, we were not able to beat Seaway’s impressive 63%. We are proud of all the students who participated and are immensely proud of our staff at North Dundas who achieved a 100% participation rate for the second time this year.
This friendly competition between our two schools was refreshing amidst the strange new reality of school during a pandemic. It brought back fond memories of cheering for our schools from the seats at the Dundas Cup hockey tournament. Congratulations to Seaway for their win; we hope to do this again soon!
This morning, Student Council conducted a simple Remembrance Day ceremony during the morning announcements since we were not able to have our annual Remembrance Day ceremony in the gymnasium. We talked about the importance of the day, read John McCrae’s famous poem, In Flanders Fields, and had our moment of silence to honour all the Canadian soldiers who have fought for our country.
Quadmester Two begins today; students will be adjusting to their new schedules this week as they start their next two classes. We wish students and teachers a smooth transition to their new schedules.
