NORTH STORMONT — With normal Christmas kiboshed, North Stormont has shifted gears on its traditional house tour.
Rather than the usual convivial occasion that draws many dozens of visitors into local homes for a look-see at their Yuletide charm, participants will get no further than the front porch in 2020. But what front porches they promise to be on this safe and physically distanced, self-guided tour!
A fundraiser for the Avonmore Children’s Park, those interested may secure tickets on Eventbrite here. Free and paid versions are available.
A printed ticket is required for each person participating on the tour, no matter the type of ticket involved (free or paid).
But there are benefits to ponying up. Each paid ticket entitles the holder to access discounts from local vendors (once per vendor) beginning 4 p.m. Dec. 3 until 6 p.m. Dec. 6.
Paid ticket holders also receive a free Christmas cookie, while those with free tickets will be able to buy the treat at North Stormont Place instead.
Porch locations and other details will be emailed Dec. 1st to those who have obtained tickets. Organizers ask that they not share porch locations and other details with non-ticket holders, to prevent loss of sales for this community fundraiser.
