SOUTH DUNDAS — A vehicle fire was reported at a South Dundas residence, around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3. The SD&G OPP arrived at the Stampville Road address and discovered a 51-year-old man had deliberately set the fire before fleeing the scene.
With the assistance of a canine unit, officers located the suspect and placed him into custody. Prior to the incident, he had been harassing an ex-girlfriend, according to the detachment.
Arrested and charged with arson and criminal harassment, the man was slated to appear in Cornwall court the following day.
