Christmas colouring contest winners announced
CHESTERVILLE — Fresh off their budding plans for an arboretum at the fairgrounds, the Chesterville & District Agricultural Society (CDAS) has put some other trees front and centre for the Yuletide season.
The lit-up Christmas trees appeared earlier this month off the side of the quiet Exhibition Hall. Donated to the CDAS by members of the community, it’s hoped the trees will “help cheer people up during these covid days,” says board member Peter Vanderlind, crediting Chris and Ashley DuPlessis, Sharyn Summers and Donna Lochnan as donors.
Meanwhile, the organization has also helped to spread additional good cheer in the community — by conducting a children’s Christmas colouring contest that drew dozens of entries. NVN’s Nelson Zandbergen served as judge.
