Provincial Constable Paul Murphy of the SD&G OPP, now retired.
LONG SAULT — The Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP Detachment ushered out 2020 by celebrating a constable’s 33-year career.

Provincial Constable Paul Murphy hung up his belt and went off duty for the last time, earlier this week.

The first four years of Murphy’s career had him with the Hearst OPP Department. Twenty-nine years ago, he arrived at the SD&G OPP. Murphy worked in several different local capacities, including Community Safety Officer, Highway Safety Division and Court Liaison Officer.

The detachment congratulated and recognized the outgoing officer for serving with “integrity, compassion and … a dedicated community member committed to public safety and security of its residents.”

“It has been a wonderful 33-year career and I’m looking forward to enjoying extra time with my family and at the community church,” said the new retiree.
