Stolen vehicles apprehended in Embrun, Bourget

EMBRUN — Russell County OPP report 1073 calls for service between December 14th and January 11th.

Boxing Day saw 42-year-old John Christopher David Lavoie from Almonte celebrating the first day of the provincial lockdown by allegedly consuming drugs, then driving around the city of Rockland, according to police. He was arrested shortly before 11:30 p.m. and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

On January 2nd, at 9:30 p.m., an officer from the Russell county provincial police made a traffic stop on Highway 417 Westbound near the Limoges exit. Further investigation found that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams. The detachment says Rockland resident Brittany Mari-Aliette Spicer, 28, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The following day, shortly before 3 a.m., officers conducting a RIDE program on Laval Street in Bourget pulled over a driver, who was later found to be Gaston Charette, 57, from Rockland, according to the detachment. When officers asked that he provide a breath sample, the driver was uncooperative. As a result, Charette was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.

All three drivers received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and their vehicles were also impounded for seven days. They will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.

On December 21st, shortly after 7:30 a.m., police received a report about a disturbance on Heritage Road in Russell. After investigating, the officer responding found that an altercation had taken place between two adults, one of which was Vickie Emilie Leblanc, 28-years-old, from Russell. She was charged with: mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective.

Leblance was scheduled to appear Jan. 13 at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal.

Three days later, on December 24th, shortly before 1:30 a.m., a suspicious vehicle was spotted by an officer conducting general patrol on Notre-Dame Street in Embrun. The vehicle had been stolen. The driver was arrested.

Joseph Ladouceur, 40, of Ottawa is charged with:

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a);
• Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court CC 145(5)(a) and
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order CC 733.1(1)

Additionally, police report that passenger Tracy Lynn Miron, 48, of Ottawa was charged with failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.

Ladouceur and Miron are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.

On December 31st, shortly before 7:30 a.m., police received reports about another suspicious vehicle. The vehicle had been sighted on the Clarence-Cambridge-Boundary Road in Bourget. Upon investigating, the police found that the vehicle had been stolen. The driver, Joey Lapensee, 33-years-old, from Rockland was charged with:

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a);
• Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code CC 320.18(1)(a)
• Theft Under $5000 CC 334(b)

Lapensee will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
