SOUTH DUNDAS — The SD&G OPP say a pedestrian was mugged by a group of suspects on County Rd. 31 in broad daylight. The public’s help is now sought in apprehending those who took part in what the detachment describes as a “robbery with violence” north of Morrisburg on Jan. 14.
The victim was walking down the side of the county road while working with electronics, when he was approached by a number of suspects shortly after 3 p.m. Though unarmed, the assailants forced their target to the ground and took his wallet, phone and electronics. The muggers then fled the scene in a white Mercedes Sprinter van, heading north on 31.
Police say the suspects spoke in a Middle Eastern dialect, had brown skin and wore face coverings

Woman charged in Alexandria stabbing
NORTH GLENGARRY — Police say a man suffered an attack Dec. 16 by an individual wielding an edged weapon in Alexandria. The assailant fled the scene and was not able to be located when police and paramedics arrived shortly after 8:30 p.m. to assist the victim, who was transported to the hospital with a stab wound.
The SD&G OPP reports that 26-year-old Vanessa Buss of North Glengarry, was arrested Jan. 12 in connection with the incident. She’s charged with:
• Aggravated assault Criminal Code Sec. 268
• Fail to comply with release order CC Sec.145(5)(a)
• Fail to comply with probation order CC Sec 733.1(1)
The accused appeared the same day at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall for a bail hearing.
