Theft from North Grenville building site

NORTH GRENVILLE — Grenville County OPP are investigating a theft from a local building site off of Royal Landing Gate in the Township of North Grenville.

The incident occurred on Friday, January 15th, 2021, just after 2 a.m.. According to police, $5,000 of material was stolen from the site, including numerous orange insulated tarps and Hilti power tools. Initial investigation revealed a surveillance video showing two males, one wearing a reflective coat, driving a dark-coloured Ford Escape.

Shoplifter apprehended

PRESCOTT — Grenville County OPP received a call about a shoplifting incident in a store on Prescott Centre Drive, Jan. 16 around 5:30 p.m.

Store staff reported to the police that an individual had left the store with $200 worth of product. The suspect was located on Massie Drive and pursued by police on-foot before he was arrested.

The detachment reports the arrest of Nathan Towey, 28, of Prescott in connection with the incident. He’s charged with: Theft Under $5,000-Shoplifting; Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; Resist Peace Officer; and Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

Towey appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.
