Winchester Kennels proprietor ‘uncertain of what to do next’ after burglar takes safe from home

WINCHESTER — The proprietor of Winchester Kennels suffered a costly burglary sometime between Sunday, January 10th and Thursday, January 14th.

According to the Kennel’s Facebook page, someone entered Van Allen’s home while she and her staff were away and took a small safe containing emergency backup cash and jewellery. Coupled with reduced income as a result of the pandemic, the loss leaves Van Allen tearful and “uncertain of what to do next”.

She asks the public to look out for jewellery being sold online, anyone paying in large amounts of cash, and anyone who recently borrowed a sledgehammer or plasma cutter/tig welder.
