RIDE stop yields cocaine, methamphetamine and charges for two in North Grenville

NORTH GRENVILLE — A RIDE program conducted last week by the Grenville OPP in Bishop Mills resulted in two arrests and seizure of drugs. On January 20th, shortly after 6:15 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle on County Road 18. While speaking to the driver, officers smelled freshly smoked cannabis and decided to search the vehicle, where they found drug paraphernalia, a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and, cannabis.

The detachment reports that Jeffrey Jessome, 41, from Cardinal and Brooke Fawcett-Renaud, 26, from Edwardsburgh were both charged with: 

  •       Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine
  •       Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

Jessome received the additional charge of failure to comply with undertaking, while Fawcett-Renaud received the additional charge of operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, according to the Grenville OPP.

Minor injuries after snowmobile collision

AUGUSTA — On January 23rd at around 1:30 p.m., Grenville OPP officers responded to a snowmobile collision on a trail two kilometres west of Maple Hill Road in Augusta Township. The 46-year-old driver from Oxford Station, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
