Payneside Farms Inc. named Premier Exhibitor at Stormont Soil and Crop Improvement Association’s annual Seed & Forage show

STORMONT — Regardless of the pandemic, this county’s fields still produced a bounty in 2020 — the best of which was recently judged and recognized by the Stormont Soil & Crop Improvement Association. First-time exhibitor Payneside Farms Inc. captured overall honours as Premier Exhibitor at the 64th annual Seed & Forage show, an event normally coinciding with the Crysler Farm Show.

This year’s judging still occurred within the Crysler Community Centre, but without the full-out farm show and with COVID-19 protocols observed.

Ten exhibitors submitted 91 entries. Those winning submissions are now headed to the Ottawa Valley Seed Show for judging in mid-March.

Glaude Farms Inc. of Berwick clocked in as Reserve Premier Exhibitor. Domar Farms of Moose Creek took Harvex’s High Yield trophy, harvesting 197.5 bushels of corn per acre.
