Jackpot now exceeds $225K in Russell’s Catch the Ace lottery; Therkelsen takes the draw again!

RUSSELL — The Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace lottery jackpot has yet to be won — with over $225,000 up for grabs at this point.

That’s the upshot of yesterday’s regular draw, which lucky Johnny Therkelsen captured for a second time. Having won $1,411 earlier in the series, Therkelsen found his name drawn again March 7th — this time taking $10,829! The massive jackpot, however, eluded him when he choose envelope #14 to reveal the King of Spades.

The Kin Club of Russell’s draw emcee Doug Anthony normally calls the winner live on Facebook for all to hear at 3:15 p.m., but was stymied by Therkelsen’s handwriting this time. Unable to read the recipient’s phone number, Anthony tried a couple of combinations to no avail. He later managed to contact the winner with the surprise news of his good fortune.

Next draw is Sunday, March 14th, 2021. Only 13 envelopes remain in which the Ace could be hiding. Next week’s draw winner will collect over $11,000 and gets a shot at opening the correct envelope to with its whopping $225,000 jackpot. Tickets are still on sale for $5 at local retail stores and online. The online option will remain open until Saturday 11:59 p.m., March 13th.
