LONG SAULT — A person at Longue Sault Public School has tested positive for COVID-19, says the Upper Canada District School Board.
Parents and staff at the school were informed yesterday.
The Board assures the public that the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is working closely with the school to prevent spread of the virus. Individuals who have had a possible high-risk exposure have been contacted.
The school remains open and operating on a regular daily schedule.
The EOHU and the Board do not release specific details about school-based COVID-19 cases directly to the public. However, schools do report confirmed COVID-19 cases to the Ontario government, and more information about those cases is eventually posted on the provincial website. It can take up to 24 to 48 hours for the information to be posted, based on the timing of reporting.
