South Stormont business trashed, sprayed with fire extinguishers

SOUTH STORMONT — Vandals broke into a Cheryl Street business and trashed the place, causing extensive damage.

SD&G OPP officers responded to the address shortly before 8 p.m. on May 17.

The entire interior of the building was ransacked and sprayed with fire extinguishers located inside, according to the detachment, which continues to investigate.

Multiple charges for North Dundas teen

NORTH DUNDAS — A 15-year-old boy faces several charges for alleged acts of violence after a domestic situation drew SD&G OPP officers to a North Dundas address May 19.

Police say the ensuing investigation found that the youth had assaulted his ex-girlfriend multiple times during their relationship. The accused also caused damage to the victim’s property and threatened her, according to the detachment.

He was arrested and charged with:  Assault (three counts); Assault with a weapon; Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm; Forcible confinement; and mischief (four counts).

The accused was released to appear July 6 in Cornwall court.
