70-plus age group eligible to book second vaccine appointment sooner in Ontario starting June 7th

TORONTO — The province announced today it is expanding the list of individuals who are eligible to book second dose appointments sooner. As of 8:00 AM on Monday, June 7th, individuals 70 years of age and over, as well as individuals who received their first dose of an mRNA (Pfizer or Moderna) vaccine on or before April 18th, will be eligible to schedule an appointment to receive their second dose at a mass immunization clinic through the provincial booking system and call centre.

Beginning on June 4th, these groups are eligible to receive their accelerated second dose appointment through pharmacies and primary care settings participating in the vaccine rollout. In addition, individuals who received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine and are opting to receive either a second dose of AstraZeneca or an mRNA vaccine can now schedule their second dose appointment at a participating pharmacy.

Eligible groups can use Ontario’s vaccine booking system to find out how to schedule an appointment or can call the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line number at 1-833-943-3900. For general inquiries, individuals can call the Provincial Vaccine Information Line number at 1-888-999-6488 or TTY service is also available by calling 1-866-797-0007.
