Arrest made in Winchester home invasion case

WINCHESTER — The SD&G OPP have charged one individual in relation to a home invasion occurring at a Victoria Street home in Winchester last year.

The incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Oct.17, 2020.

The detachment reports making an arrest this week (Oct. 6) in connection with the case.

Police say that Casey Stone, 29, of South Dundas is charged with: Robbery with Violence; Use Credit card; and two counts of Fail to comply with probation.

Stone was released from custody to appear Nov. 30 in Morrisburg court.

The resident victim, who was alone in the house, reported that two males broke into the home and assaulted him. The culprits entered the home and removed Canadian currency from the home before they fled on foot. The resident was not seriously hurt.

The OPP Canine Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit assisted the SD&G OPP Crime Unit with the investigation.
